Special Considerations for Mortgage Refinancing

You may be experiencing financial problems that could result in foreclosure and the loss of your home. The hardship that caused you to fall behind in your mortgage payments may be due to reasons beyond your control. An experienced loss mitigation counselor can help by partnering with you to find a solution that fits your needs and circumstances and meets the requirements of FHA, VA, FNMA, Freddie Mac, etc.

The following is a list of options (programs) that can offer you solvency and help you get back on your feet. By enlisting the aid of a qualified loss mitigation agency, you will find that their services can meet and/or exceed Federal Housing and HUD provisions. Government-backed programs can help you realize real financial relief without the need for bankruptcy, foreclosure or being forced to sell your home below market value and losing your equity.

VA Modification - If you have incurred a long-term financial hardship, the federal government has designed a special program to help VA backed mortgages. The delinquent amount is added to the principal balance and the loan is re-amortized. This generally results in lower monthly payments and a lower interest rate.

Deed in Lieu of Foreclosure - This is another foreclosure avoidance program that allows you to convey (transfer) your interest in the property to the lender, loan investor or the government. (Again, this option is only if you do not want or cannot afford the home.

Modification - This program adds the delinquent interest, taxes and insurance payments to the unpaid balance. If you qualify, you may be able to get help by extending the repayment of the past due amounts over the remaining term of your loan.

The next step is up to you, and please remember that time is very important when dealing with mortgage lenders and the federal government.

Dan Schultz operates American Loss Mitigation, Inc., a consultancy dedicated to helping people prevent home foreclosure. Schultz also trains interested people to become loss mitigation counselors.

Uninviting Burglars - Making Your Home Less Attractive to Burglars Part 2

Uninviting Burglars Part 2

Burglars, thieves, and muggers are opportunists. Theyre watching for little details that will lead them to an easy victim. Here are some things to know to help keep your home and family safe.

AN OCCUPIED HOME When leaving your home, make sure all your windows and doors are secure. Keep a light or radio turned on or put them on a timer. Turn your answering machine volume down. Never leave a note on your door for delivery persons. If you have an alarm system, remember to turn it on! If you have a babysitter, make sure they know how to arm/disarm the system. At night, close your curtains or pull your shades. Never leave a key outside under a welcome mat, above a doorway, etc. Those are the first places burglars look. When arriving home, if you suspect someone is inside your garage or house, DONT GO IN! Get away quickly and go to a neighbors house and call the police.

VACATIONS Have a neighbor or friend pick up your papers, mail, and flyers. Have someone take care of your lawn and/or snow shoveling. Leave a key with a friend or neighbor and have them occasionally change drapery positions. Have someone park their car in your driveway. Put two or more light timers in separate rooms set at different times (this indicates movement). Lock the garage door track. Secure the garage windows the same as your home windows.

VISITORS Use a peep hole viewer to see whos there. Never rely on chain locks. Engage the deadbolt until you verify the identity of the person on the other side of the door. Utility employees carry ID cards. You can call the company to verify information. NEVER - UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES let someone in to just use the phone. Offer to make the call for them. Make sure children and babysitters understand they should NEVER let anyone in the house without your permission. Have them call you if there is any question. Should someone come to your door late at night, answer the door. No need to let someone inside, but youre showing a potential thief someone is home. Mention youre not alone and a friend or relative is sleeping in the other room.

DOGS No need to get a trained attack dog, a huge dog, or a pure-bred dog. Any dog can be a first-rate burglar deterrent. As an added bonus, dogs also make wonderful companions. To find the best fit for your family and home, stop by your local Humane Society. If you cant have a dog, buy a leash and hang it outside the back door.

MOVING Change all the locks on every door, including the garage. Change the code for the garage door remote, . Change locks if you lose your keys.

TELEPHONES Have telephones in more than one room. When setting up your answering machine or voicemail, never say Were not home. Instead, say Were busy or Were unavailable. Use we instead of I. Dont give your full or last name in the message. Either give your number or give only your first names. Single women may wish to have a male friend leave the message or use the machines pre-recorded message. Make sure children and babysitters never tell a caller they are alone. Have them say My parents cant come to the phone right now. Never volunteer any information to unknown callers. NEVER give your name, address, or any bank or credit card numbers to someone calling you unless you know them personally.

GUNS For your childrens protection, guns should be locked in a cabinet or fitted with a trigger guard. Ammunition should be kept in a separate secure area. With that in mind, how much time do you think you would you have to arm yourself should you hear a noise? Even for people with no small children at home, police statistics indicate a 4-5 times greater chance of you being harmed by your own weapon!

PRESENTS Never leave empty TV, VCR, computer, or packaging from expensive gifts on the curb. If they wont fit in the recycling container, consider taking large boxes to a recycler yourself.

MISC. If you are having a garage sale, have at least one helper to keep an eye on your items and money. Make sure your house is locked. Never carry more than a few dollars in your cash box. If you have your name on your mailbox, use only your first initial with your last name. Make sure any ladders and hand tools (burglar helpers) are safely locked away. Never leave your garage unlocked.

In our grandparents day, people knew everyone in their neighborhood. Now, some families barely have time to see each other, let alone get to know their neighbors. Joining a blockwatch is a great way to meet your neighbors. You can find out what good/bad things are going on in your neighborhood. Problems are much easier to solve when you have input from many people. There is strength in numbers! A blockwatch normally has a good working relationship with their alderperson and the police department. Knowing your neighbors and the normal neighborhood activities gives you the advantage over strangers. As a bonus, you may make a new friend or two! If you see something you know is wrong, dont hesitate to call for help. If there is no blockwatch in your neighborhood, your local police department can provide information and instructions for starting your own.

REMEMBER IF SOMETHING FEELS SUSPICIOUS, IT PROBABLY IS! DONT DISCOUNT YOUR 6TH SENSE.

Stay safe, Jim & Deb

Facts On Enuresis

It's not something that a lot of people want to talk about openly, if at all, but Enuresis, or regular involuntary bed-wetting, is a serious problem for young children and something that causes them a lot of emotional stress and damage. While in most cases there is no serious underlying condition, there is still the possibility that one exists. This article is going to provide you with the facts about Enuresis, including what causes it and how to treat the problem.

Enuresis can actually be caused by a number of things. The most common, however, is functional, meaning that there are no physical problems at all. In these cases the child is usually just nervous. however, there are those rare cases where there is a physical problem, which is why all cases of Enuresis should be reported to a doctor just to make sure.

The most common physical problem that causes Enuresis is urethral sphincters that don't function properly. This makes it so that control of urine discharge becomes difficult for the child. In more serious cases, Enuresis could be indications of diseases such as juvenile diabetes, pinworms, and even epilepsy. In most cases, the bed-wetting stops within several weeks of treatment of the underlying disease.

For functional causes, there are a number of things that the parents can do. One is to make sure that the child has no liquids prior to going to sleep at night. Another thing the parents can do is to remind the child to urinate before going to sleep. This will further reduce the chances of having problems during the night.

The most important thing is to be supportive of the child. Scolding the child is not going to solve the problem. This isn't something that the child wants to do or can even control, so it is important to show support and give comfort to the child. If the parents make sure that they do not become a source of conflict, eventually, the child will outgrow this problem. Just make sure you have plenty of extra sheets in the meantime.

This is not a suggested treatment, but in severe cases, there are drugs that can be given to the child, such as Tofrnil, that have side effects of urine retention. This will keep the child from wetting the bed in the middle of the night.

The important thing for the parent to do is make any notes of urinary changes as these can be signs of serious diseases. Also make notes of any changes in the color of the urine and volume as well.

In most cases, Enuresis is not serious and the child will outgrow it. However, just to be on the safe side, please bring your child to a doctor to be examined. Juvenile diabetes, pinworms and epilepsy are not things that you want to neglect, no matter how slight the chance that your child has anything that serious.

To YOUR Health,

GM Plans to Keep Saab, Hummer

General Motors is going through a cataclysmic change, one that will certainly pull the company out of its current financial plight or result in bankruptcy, even the possible dissolution of the company. In a quest to right the listing ship, the company is divesting itself of several brands including its share of Isuzu, Fuji Heavy Industries [Subaru], and others. As far as its wholly owned brands, speculation has been rife that one, two, maybe even three brands might be discontinued or sold. Two of the most talked about makes for possible divestment are Hummer the niche military-style SUV brand and Saab the Swedish automaker. Although both brands are currently fairly weak, GM has maintained that the two makes will not only survive, but receive fresh product and backing. Lets take a look at two of GMs most vulnerable brands and what the company may have in store for each one.

Saab -- Saab enthusiasts have been highly disappointed ever since General Motors snapped up the Swedish automaker back during the early 1990s. Admirers hopes that the brand would receive some deep pocket support havent quite worked out the way many would have wanted it to. Instead, the Saab brand is simply a shell of its former self with most models based on other automakers platforms including the Subaru inspired 9-2x and the GMC inspired 9-7x.

Saabs future more than likely rests with Opel, GMs big European brand based in Germany. Future production of some Saab cars is likely to go to Germany with rebadged Opels being sold as Saabs. For the long term, look for every single Saab model to based on someone elses technology, effectively ending what was once a unique Swedish brand.

Hummer -- Desert Storm gave rise to the Humvee and soon after the war ended, the AM General company began to produce civilian versions of its military vehicle to fulfill consumer demand. By the late 1990s, General Motors bought out the rights to the Hummer name, but GM still relies on AM General to produce the two largest models, while building the H3 itself.

Despite intentionally low sales, the Hummer name has managed to thrive. Celebrities, financial moguls, and everyday citizens have been attracted to the brand which has given GM a bit of a halo effect. With gas prices surging, demand will certainly drop for the larger Hummers, but GM may counter that with stronger emphasis on the H3 and the development of the H4, a vehicle reportedly much like the compact Jeep Wrangler.

Of course, not everyone is happy with GMs plans with the two brands, but then again these arent normal times for the struggling automaker. In time, GMs plans may be refined and Saab could still be sold, especially if Swedish interests step forward. In all, GM is attempting to right its listing ship without peeling off too many brands. Will it work? That is hard to say, but if you are a fan of the GM you certainly hope that it will.

What To Look For In A Good Business Insurance Coverage Policy

Businesses need insurance to ensure it will be able to operate in case any kind of disaster strikes, otherwise all the hard work, time money and effort put into running a business will be wasted. The first step taken to ensure continuity of a business is through insurance. A lot of care should be taken in selecting the right agent, the right carrier and getting the best-suited policy that provides adequate coverage.

Things to Look While Shopping For Business Insurance Coverage:

Choose a package policy rather than going for several separate policies. Try and obtain low rates by opting for a policy offered by a group or professional organization. Make sure the policies do not overlap or duplicate.

  • Be certain to have a building (building and permanently installed equipments as well as other fixtures) and content (all property in the building used by the business) coverage policy as it will insure the premise against fire, hurricane, flood, earthquakes etc.

  • General liability coverage that protects you against suits filed by clients, customers, delivery people etc. who were injured or suffered property damage while conducting your business is a must. Be certain to include bodily injury liability, property damage liability, personal injury liability, and advertising liability coverage and a few essential things to look while shopping for a business insurance coverage.

  • Auto liability insurance will be necessary if your company uses vehicles to transport goods or people.

  • It will be advisable to go for a workers compensation insurance as well as Employee practice liability insurance as these are extremely necessary in the current environment where suing the employer has become a trend!

  • Seeking business interruption insurance may also be helpful as in case of a fire or damage to the property the insurance will cover the expenses {rent, payroll, taxes etc.} until the premise is repaired and ready for use. Make sure that an adequate number of days are allotted. Go for a policy that will compensate you for decreased income on reopening.

  • Professional liability insurance will be useful too with a virus liability endorsement in case you are in the business of storing sensitive data on computers servers etc and one of the essential things to look while shopping for a business insurance coverage.

  • Adequate medical and health insurance for your employees should be provided.

  • Having a Director & Officer policy will be useful too.
  • Hire a good agent who understands the needs of your business and who will guide you to select the best possible package at the lowest rates available. Adequately protect your company against unforeseen disasters making sure your business will continue its operation no matter what. There are a few firms that offer their help to make the task of running a business easier for new entrepreneurs.

    The Secret of Fulfillment

What if I told you that the secret to what youre missing can be found in the same mundane experiences and details of your life that you think are boring you?

Of course you are. We all yearn for excitement and the thrill of new discoveries and experiences. We save for holidays that we never take, or we finally go and then chase away vague dissatisfaction when we get home because the experience didnt quite measure up to the dream we had of it. For most of us, few if any of our life experiences actually satisfy our craving for fulfillment. Were not even sure what were trying to satisfy inside. Its elusive but persistent. Its a vague craving we cant understand or find the fulfillment for.

What if I told you that you dont have to go anywhere or do anything that costs money or requires resources you dont have in order to satisfy that hollow empty feeling? What if I told you that the secret to what youre missing can be found in the same mundane experiences and details of your life that you think are boring you? Youd think I was mad. I can hear your protests about stresses and pressures and chores you dont like and cruel bosses and indifferent spouses. And yet, its true. The world and the experiences that it offers are not holding out on you. The experiences that youve chosen are not the wrong ones. The universe has come to the party. You are the missing guest of honor!

Your body is present and your head is working the facts. You are keeping your head above water (barely) and watching the party on the golden shore, wondering why everyone seems to be having fun but you. But the most important aspect of YOU hasnt been issued an invitation to participate. And youre the one handing out invitations. Your Awareness of yourself in the present moment is missing.

Part of you lives in the future - planning, plotting and working toward that golden shore of tomorrow or next year or retirement. That adult aspect of yourself is responsibly worrying about a point in time it cant even be sure will ever happen. Its too busy defending and working to avoid unpleasant potentials to notice whether theres really any danger.

Another part of you lives in the past. Its the part of you that never grew up so much that life has become old hat. Its the child you are inside that still loves fireworks, flowers and fairy tales. Its the part of you that has never stopped being in awe of yourself and the universe. But its also that part of you that got your knees and elbow scraped on life, fell down and failed and tried again and learned that sometimes you cant get things right. Its been decreed that vulnerable part of yourself has been hurt enough, isnt mature enough, doesnt understand reality, trusts too much and so its kept safely tucked away from the big, bad present moment.

But how much of your awareness is actually focused on now? Most of us are absent and unaccounted for in the present moment. Our bodies go through the motions and our head does the human brain computer calculations to get us from point A to point B. Our awareness dances around in our past and future, coloring the present moment with fears from the past and hopes for the future to the point we cant really see whats happening clearly. Some party. No wonder were bored and restless and itching to find a new scene!

What would happen if you issued an invitation to the child inside to come and experience the present moment as it without his or her fear from the past? What wonders would you find your experiences contain? How bright would the colors of your world become? How magical would the synchronicities and simple coincidences feel? How satisfying would things taste and touch and sound and feel in your world? How deeply fulfilling would it be to truly feel the humor and pain, love and hate and joy of the moment as the child you are experiences them?

What would happen if you also issued an invitation to the adult inside who is busy with the future to come and hold that childs hand in the moment; to guide and protect that child and share its experiences now? What would happen to your future if you stopped worrying about it and began allowing it to unfold according to the choices and decisions you made in the present moment? What if the adult stuck in the future and the child stuck in the past partnered in a dance that they wrote themselves from the music they found around them now? That would definitely liven up the party!

Spiritual awareness isnt about enlightenment gained through difficult disciplines and practices. It isnt something that will happen someday when we advance enough. Spiritual awareness is about Being All Here Right Now. What we have to experience is found in the present moment. What we have to learn is right under our nose. We arent spiritually aware and we dont get happy after we are healed. We can be spiritually aware and happy right now. We can experience the fulfillment of spiritual awareness and enjoyment of who we are while we grow and develop as humans and souls.

Issue some invitations. Invite yourself to the party. See the world and travel your own journey one moment at a time. You are your own gift. Unwrap all of yourself this holiday season!

Financial Aid Options For Adults Who Want To Continue Their Education

Approximately 90 million adults in the United States are now enrolled in some kind of training or educational program. Four out of every ten college students are over twenty-five years of age. Another 800,000 take the General Educational Development (GED) test every year to earn high school diplomas. Adult education and re-training is a big trend!

Some of the pressure to get more education is coming from a job market that demands up-to-date skills, especially in technology. The workers with the best and most current skills are in the most demand and earn higher salaries. A college degree often opens the door for a better job or promotion. The United States Bureau of Census estimates that a college degree is worth about $1.2 million over the course of a person's career.

Colleges have adapted to the growing market of returning adult students by changing the way they offer their courses. Many big-name universities now offer their most popular degree programs, such as the Masters of Business Administration, in classes that meet evenings and weekends. Others are providing a combination of weekend, evening and online courses to accommodate the schedules of busy professionals.

One of the biggest trends of all is the emergence of the online university. Tens of thousands of adults are now earning "online" college degrees. They can log into a chat room and discuss assignments with other students and their professionals. They can study online whenever it's convenient. Many of these online schools do not follow formal semester schedules and thus can allow students to take classes whenever they want to start.

Adult students, sometimes called "re-entry students," can qualify for traditional government financial aid if they are enrolled at least half-time. This usually means that they must be taking two full-credit courses at once. Their schools must have the proper accreditations to participate in Title IV programs in order for them to be eligible for aid.

If a re-entry student is taking enough credits to qualify at a Title IV school, he or she then goes through the traditional financial aid process. The first step is to fill out a FAFSA, an abbreviation that means Free Application for Federal Student Aid. You can download a FAFSA and instructions at http://studentaid.ed.gov/PORTALSWebApp/students/english/fafsa.jsp. Students need to fill this out to qualify for programs.

If a student demonstrates financial need, he or she may qualify for government grants, which do not have to be paid back. The Perkins Loan program, also for low-income students, provides loans at very low interest rates that are paid back over a period of ten years beginning nine months after graduation.

College students who are enrolled at least half-time and who can maintain a C average may apply for government loans, also at low interest rates and long payback periods. Sometimes you will owe the money directly to the government. In other cases, a student will have a loan from a private lender who acts as a middleman.

Re-entry students should always contact their financial aid officer at the college of their choice. Their counselor can help them with their FAFAs and other forms, as well as find them a bank to loan them money through a government program.

A good knowledgeable financial aid officer will help students find private scholarship money, too. Although the majority of scholarships are for undergraduates in traditional campus programs, there are over 1800 for re-entry students over twenty-five years of age. While there are private scholarship search companies, most students should be able to do this task themselves for free on the Internet or through their financial aid office.

If you are now serving or have served in the military, you should ask your college financial aid officer about military benefits for continuing education.

Sometimes employers will pay for continuing adult education. Many employers just want an employee to pick up a certain course to enhance job performance in one area. Other employers will pay for the completion of college degrees and even advanced degrees.

Some universities try to pressure students into enrolling before the students know how much financial aid they will receive per semester. To avoid this problem, you can go online and plug in your FAFSA numbers to get a rough estimate of your financial aid package. Your financial aid officer can help you get this estimate before you sign up for tuition payments.

It is also important to understand your school's refund policy. Some students enroll and find out that they cannot carry a half-load of college work plus their professional and family responsibilities. Then they find out their schools will not refund their tuition money either in whole or in part, and that they will have a problem getting out of their federal loans. Investigate all these areas before you sign up for any continuing education program.

Biometrics: The Future is Here, Biometric Technology has Arrived in the Security Industry

The future is here. Biometric technology has arrived in the home security industry, and we are excited to offer you the innovative Access Control biometric reader. In the old days, access to restricted areas was granted by metal keys and locks. Then technology progressed to ID cards and PIN numbers. But now you have the ultimate in access control.

    What is a Biometric Reader?

Biometric comes from the Greek bios (life) and metron (measure). A biometric reader recognizes humans based on intrinsic physical traits. For example, a biometric reader can read eye retinas or irises, facial patterns, hand measurements or fingerprints. Unlike keys, cards, or number sequences, access through a biometric reader cannot be transferred from person to person unless explicitly authorized.

How Does a Biometric Reader Work?

A biometric reader can be used as a stand-alone or a networked operation, perfect for home or office. An authorized person has their physical characteristic scanned and turned into a numerical algorithm which is then entered into a database. The authorized person must subsequently provide that same physical characteristic- for example, their hand, to be read and recognized by the biometric reader before access is granted.

    Why Use a Biometric Reader?

A biometric reader is a more reliable security device than your average lock or keypad. Only the person authorized access can successfully pass a biometric reader. A key, card, or number sequence can be passed around or easily stolen. A biometric reader requires that the authorized person be physically present for access to be granted. Thieves and other criminals would have a difficult time getting past a biometric reader.

Other reasons to use a biometric reader:

    1. It is affordable and user friendly, recognizing identity and granting access in less than one second.

    2. Biometric reader can store information from 512 users (standard) up to 35,512 users (networked).

    3. A biometric reader drives costs down while raising the level of security.

Biometric reader access control can be incorporated into your security system.

    The Advantages of Screened Sunrooms

If you're considering adding a sunroom you have to consider what type you want for not everybody wants an elaborate sunroom with the intricate work that has to be put in heating and cooling systems. Many people want to just enjoy the outdoors at certain times of the year and this is where screened sun rooms can be the answer to what you're looking for. Some people are satisfied with a screened porch, as they only want to use it in the summer and the screened porch is the ideal way to be able to enjoy nature from the comfort of your home.

Whether you are building a sunroom or a porch, it is very important to consider the location of the room towards the rest of the house. The location is very important for the best possible lighting and also for catching a breeze on a hot summer's day. You also have to remember that adding a screened porch to your home tends to darken the rest of the house. Most people think this is well worth it to be able to sit on their porch with screen all around and not have to worry about the insects that come with warm weather.

You can also incorporate glass with screen by having panels of glass installed along with the screen. This allows you the privilege of having a cool breeze come through and by using the glass it will give you a certain amount of heat. You do not have to spend a fortune on an elaborate sunroom. If you have a porch already, all you have to do is frame out some openings and attach screens. This is a very simple way of enjoying nature during the summer in total comfort. If you have a patio, screen can also be attached to this, which gives you the same effect making a room that the whole family can enjoy during the warm summer months.

    Why You Need Mobile Insurance

Every 45 seconds, somebody loses his mobile phone. Thats 700,000 people a yearand considering the cost of todays mobile phones, over a million worth of property.

But we all know that when we lose our phone, the cost of the unit is the least of our concerns. Many of us store priceless information on our mobile phones. Its got the contact numbers of clients, associates, family and friends. Its got photos and videos from family vacations. Its got schedules and to do lists, which are a headache to reconstruct. And theres the hassle of having to replace the unit, recover all that information, and thenwhen the bill arrivescontest the cost of all the calls the thief may have made before you reported it.

Thats where mobile phone insurance comes in handy. This type of policy was developed to address the needs of the digital society, where people use mobile phones and PDAs for practically everything. Plus, they bring it everywhere, making them more vulnerable to theft or even damage. Who hasnt experienced dropping the phone? Or what about the time you were caught in a really strong sudden downpour, and your bag (and the phone you were covering inside it) was drenched so badly that you had to get a towel to dry everything off.

Mobile phone insurance provides necessary protection against the loss of, or damage to, mobile phones and personal digital assistants (PDAs). It can repair or replace a damaged or lost phone with a similar unit (if that unit is out of stock or has since been discontinued, you will be given a phone equal in value, after inflation). Mobile phone insurance can also help owners complain about unauthorized calls.

If you lost your phone, you have to call your communication company and the police within minutesjust to stop the thief from using your plan to make his calls. You should also look at the insurances fine print to see their policy on how they replae a unit. Mobile phones can deteriorate very quickly in market value and you cant expect to get the top-of-the-line phone in exchange for an old model you bought two years ago.

You should also take steps to protect your phone. Dont leave it lying around. If you have a habit of forgetting to take it with you, then buy a unit that is small enough to fit in your pocket or even hang around your neck. If you dont like sporting your phone like a clunky necklace, you can also buy special belts that let you hang your phone around your waist. This is more unobtrusive and wont cramp your fashion statement.

Also program your phone for password protection, so that no thief can use your phone book or steal personal information (such as bank account numbers).

Its also very important that you avoid dropping or wetting the phone. You can buy protective sleeves or cases that will help protect the phone from scratches or dampness. Also backup your phone data periodically (once every month is good) so you have a hardcopy of the contact numbers.

Long Term Care Insurance - Read This If You're So Sure You Won't Ever Need It

If you quote statistics that prove the need for long term care insurance a lot of folks simply soothe themselves by affirming it can't happen to them. Well, even you can show clear family history in your favor, just take out some time to make sure you're not making a fatal mistake.

Most people often think that long term care insurance is needed by the elderly who'll become frail as they age further. Nothing could be further from the truth. Reliable statistics show that 40 percent of those receiving long term care are less than 65 years.

Here are grave statistics that should awake you to real life conditions...

    1) 28 percent of stroke victims in the US are under 65 years of age. Since there are at least 700,000 stroke victims annually, 28% translates to 196,000 cases.

    2) There are 60,000 new cases of Parkinson's disease each year with the average onset age being 60 years.

    3) Add to these the grave statistics of heart attacks

    4) Add the fact that the likelihood of disability increases as a person grows older.

    5) Custodial care represents 95 percent of all long term care. And, please note that custodial care isn't covered by health insurance, medicare or medicaid.

Look at these figures again and just make sure you really don't need long term care insurance. This is because if you do without adequate insurance coverage, you'll become what everyone dreads -- An object lesson for others to learn from.

To cut the cost of long term care insurance, take some time out to obtain quotes from insurance quotes sites. Do this not only for long term care insurance but also for your existing policies. You could save several hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars on the whole if you do it well. Visit at least three reputable insurance quotes sites for best results.
